See you in London!
London is a fascinating city – a mosaic of the wider world. If you can’t find whatever it is you’re looking for here, then you just haven’t looked hard enough.
THE CITY WITH THE BEST
COCKTAILS IN THE WORLD
Yes, you read that right: apart from emblematic places like the Tower of London, Hyde Park and Portobello, it’s also home to the best cocktail bar in the world, an honor awarded by The World’s 50 Best Bars. The Connaught Bar is in the number one spot for the second year running, so take note for your next visit. Cheers!
Let yourself be seduced by one of the gems hidden away in the UK capital, a city that has so much to offer.
G Baldwin & Co
In London the ultra-modern rubs shoulders with the most classical and traditional. Located in southeast London, G Baldwin & Co represents tradition. Dating back to 1844, it’s one of city’s last remaining herbalists. The interior, with its wooden floors, high counters and shelves lined with bottles of natural remedies, remains true to its roots. Allow yourself to be transported back to the London of past centuries – a must visit.
Borough Market
Once you’ve worked up an appetite, head for Borough Market. Located in central London, you’ll find a thousand different ways to indulge at one of the market’s many food stalls. A fun gastronomic experience that’s the very essence of London. Guaranteed. The market dates from 1756, but its origins lie in much further back, in the 12th century. A nerve center that’s a place where you can celebrate your passion for good food, or simply stop off for a snack. You simply have to experience it for yourself.
Two foodie ideas that we think you’ll love:
A restaurant that that as well as ensuring that you enjoy the food – which is perfect for sharing – also strives to have a positive impact on the neighborhood. Their tasting menus consist of seasonal dishes created with produce from farms in southern England. Why settle for just one?
SUCCUMB TO
CULINARY PLEASURES
Publiq Restaurant
On the floor above trendy pizza joint Fugazzi Pizza in the Pointe Saint-Charles district, you’ll find the Milky Way Cocktail Bar. It was nominated the best ‘new’ bar in Canada by the prestigious 50 Best Discovery. The glass ceiling, the eclectic cocktails and the relaxed, friendly atmosphere will mesmerise you.
Fancy a cocktail? Allow Kate Boushel to advise – she’s the one who wowed us with a Gall Maker, a Torres 15 based cocktail that pairs brilliantly with a Wu-Tang Killa Bees pizza. Delicious!
Sussex Bar & Restaurant
If you want to try typical British fare, this is the restaurant for you. Located right in the heart of Soho, it won’t disappoint. The produce and ingredients come from farms in southeast England – a good pedigree. Chef Oliver Gladwin creates seasonal menus, featuring creative dishes with British roots. With his tasting menu you can savor all sorts of British delicacies, and spectacular flavorsome dishes such as Beef Wellington.
The undisputed cocktail capital of the world, London has lots to offer when it comes to cocktails. You’ll find the crème de la crème of the cocktails in the UK capital.
THE ART OF
COCKTAIL MAKING
The Cocktail Trading Co
One part of London that’s definitely worth a visit is Shoreditch, a vibrant district that has masses of bars and restaurants and a buzzing night life. Take a stroll through its streets and markets, and when the sun goes down, make sure you’re in the famous Brick Lane so that you can check out The Cocktail Trading Co – we’re sure you’ll be impressed! It’s a bar that’s truly unique thanks to the skills of the staff in the art of preparing and presenting cocktails. Power of imagination made cocktail. Don’t miss the Sovereign Baller, a classic cocktail, complex and delicious.
Tayēr + Elementary
Staying in Shoreditch, we’re now heading for what we think has to be one of the best bars in the world. Tayēr + Elementary is the creation of two of the big names of the cocktail world: Monica Berg y Alex Kratena. A bar with an edgy industrial feel where you can try a craft beer, have a snack, or kick off with their signature tipple, the One Sip Martini. In the other part of the space that’s called Tayēr, it’s the cocktails that are clearly the stars of the show. If you’re expecting something classical, think again – Tayēr is groundbreaking, not only in the austere presentation of its cocktails, but also in their preparation. A singularly different take on the cocktail, and one that’s not to be missed.
